Made very popular and brought into the mainstream largely due to UFC. UFC and MMA are the not the same thing; UFC is to MMA what the NFL is to football. Fights are organized by promotions, the largest of which today are the UFC and Bellator.

1: A sport where many ppl who study different types are martial arts come together to fight to see who's better. You have stand-up work, which is the martial arts like Tae Kwon Do and Muai Thai, then you have ground work like wrestling, grappling, and Jiu-Jitsu. It's a painful and dangerous sport, but anyone who tries will learn respect and strength. Plus you'll be one BAAAD mother fucker. XD
